Our Mission

The Italian-American Cultural Center of Iowa will promote, preserve and provide education about all aspects of the rich Italian-American culture to the Des Moines Metropolitan are and the State of Iowa.

Our Purpose and objectives are to:

  1. Establish an Italian-American Cultural Center of Iowa to serve all those requesting assistance.

  2. Preserve, promote and carry out educational, charitable and cultural activities which best serve the welfare of Americans of Italian extraction and the community at large.

  3. Foster a pride in and an awareness of Italian culture by the sponsoring of lectures, classes, conferences and study groups devoted to the contributions which Italians have made to the country and mankind.

  4. Raise, collect, administer and dispense funds for the purposes set forth in the Constitution and Bylaws.

  5. Exercise such other functions as are consistent with the purposes and objectives allowed by its' certification as a non-profit corporation as is consistent with section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
